Background:

Kala has always been a person both interested in the sciences and the arts. Her undergraduate degree is in Biomedical Sciences and she really enjoyed learning the details of how our world works. She has also always had a creative side and feels the need to put personal touches on everything. When she found architecture, it really became clear that details matter in a good design and it’s a way for her to meld the two parts of my brain into one result. The more experience she gets, the more she enjoys learning about how people use their spaces and how to make a space work as efficiently as possible for their end goal. She enjoys learning the boundaries of a new project and working the solution to fit; similar to putting a puzzle together.

Personal Statement:

“I’ve been fortunate to work with some really great people so far who have helped me as I pushed myself through my career. My goal is to be that person to others looking to advance themselves in this industry and to be a role model for young girls as they start looking into career options. My focus is on my family and providing a solid foundation for my daughter to be a strong, independent person. I want to show her how to work hard and achieve your goals, whatever they may be.”
