D-BAT is a baseball and softball training facility focused on the education and training of young athletes. They are a national franchise that had their sights set on a new location in Windsor, Colorado. Collab had the opportunity to help them bring this new location to life in a pre-existing building off of I-25 in Windsor.

Architecture + Design

The building originally housed a volleyball facility and needed to be reconfigured to accommodate a variety of functions that D-BAT was looking to offer. A majority of this 22,500 SF tenant finish is dedicated training space with batting cages, pitching lanes, and lesson areas. This sport space was designed to be flexible to allow for other fitness and training activities by using retractable nets and the opportunity of indoor/outdoor space.

In addition to the training area, the program also included a pro-shop and retail space, administrative areas and offices, a parents lounge, party room and instructor’s lounge. For all of these spaces, there was heavy coordination with their corporate headquarters to ensure that the design and material selections met their company standards. As a national franchise, it was important to create a cohesive look and feel to the space.

In making sure that the vision aligned with their company goals and standards, our team created several renderings of the space to give an accurate representation of the configuration and materials. This removed the guesswork for the client and ensured we are all on the same page before moving into the next phase of the project.
