New Logo, Who 'Dis?

We gave our brand a little refresh this quarter—starting with an updated logo that better reflects where we’re headed. It’s cleaner, sharper, and built to grow with us, while still grounded in the values that shaped us from the start: collaboration, community-first, and creative solutions.

As the seasons shift and we hit the midyear mark, it’s the perfect time to reflect on where we’ve been and what’s ahead. From groundbreakings and grand openings to team outings and community fundraisers, there’s been no shortage of meaningful work—or moments to celebrate.

Read on to catch up on all the highlights from Q2.

SALIDA CUSTOM RESIDENCE

Construction is well underway on this one-story mountain modern residence located just outside of Salida. Designed to take full advantage of its expansive 38-acre site, the home features sweeping views, a clean transitional aesthetic, and an open-concept floor plan that prioritizes natural light and connectivity to the surrounding landscape. At just under 2,500 square feet, the main residence includes expansive glazing, warm wood accents, and a seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces. A detached garage adds over 1,000 square feet of functional support space. After stopping by to see how great it’s already looking, we’re even more excited to watch it come to life!

WCSD6 ADMINISTRATIVE RENOVATIONS

Finishing touches are underway for our Weld County School District 6 project. Project Designer Emily Perkins recently joined team members from WCSD6 and Bryan Construction for a walk-through of both the Administration and BATS buildings, checking in on progress and final details. This two-building renovation addresses flood-related damage while reconfiguring offices, training rooms, and other spaces to improve functionality, efficiency, and long-term resilience for the district. We’ll share the final reveal soon—keep an eye out for our next newsletter or follow along on our social media channels for more updates.

WORK //

HOUSED WORKING & HEALTHY

Collab Architecture has been working with Housed, Working & Healthy (HW&H) on the design and renovation of their new 4,000 SF facility in Denver. The nonprofit provides comprehensive support services that include housing assistance, mental health care, and culinary job training, helping individuals move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

As part of our commitment to community impact, we are proud to support HW&H’s mission by creating a space that brings all of their services under one roof. The renovation includes dedicated areas for classrooms, culinary training and demonstration, and administrative support—designed to strengthen their integrated service model and provide the infrastructure needed to expand their programming. Partnering with an organization so deeply rooted in service has been a meaningful opportunity for our team, and we remain committed to supporting their work and the communities they serve.

EXPERIENCE //

SUPERIOR DOWNTOWN CIVIC SPACE

In June, Principal Architect Jordan Lockner and Project Architect Kaylyn Charlesworth attended the Grand Opening of the Town of Superior’s new Civic Space, a milestone event that also kicked off the summer farmer’s market. The community was invited to explore the facility while enjoying live music, food trucks, and a magic show in the new event space.

Designed to complement the existing Community Center, the building supports a wide range of programs and public uses. It features a large events space with a catering kitchen, flexible classrooms, administrative areas, and shared workspaces to accommodate the Town’s hybrid operations.

WILDWING PARK & SILVERTHORNE REC CENTER

WildWing Community Park Grand Opening

In April, the Town of Timnath celebrated the grand opening of WildWing Community Park, kicking off Phase 1 of its vision for expanded community recreation. The park includes courts, a pavilion, an adaptive playground, and a community garden. Collab designed the restroom and maintenance facility, a modern structure that balances function and aesthetics while anchoring the site as a key visual feature. The facility was designed with long-term durability and neighborhood character in mind.

Silverthorne Recreation Center Expansion Ground Breaking

This spring, Collab joined the Town of Silverthorne and JHL Constructors to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Silverthorne Recreation Center Expansion—a key milestone in the town’s continued investment in wellness and community gathering. The expanded facility will feature dedicated fitness areas, flexible multipurpose spaces, and dedicated children’s and administrative spaces, all designed to support the evolving needs of residents and visitors. The expansion builds on the original facility’s legacy as a year-round destination for health, connection, and play.

COLLAB IN THE COMMUNITY //

BOWLING FOR SOUP WRAP-UP

In April, Collab hosted our biggest Bowling for Soup yet as part of the Corporate Food Fight campaign for the Food Bank for Larimer County. With 30 lanes sold and nearly 200 participants, the night brought together returning teams, new faces, and plenty of team spirit—complete with custom shirts and rally chants. Thanks to the support of our attendees and sponsors, we raised $8,719.98 and collected 950 pounds of food and essential items—earning Collab a spot in the top three for most food and funds raised in this year’s Food Fight, and making a meaningful impact for neighbors in need.

Special thanks to Chick-fil-A for donating 100 sandwiches, Ridge River Distillery for keeping things festive, and Chipper’s Lanes Horsetooth for being the ultimate host.

Shoutout to this year’s standouts:

We’ll see you on the lanes next year—until then, keep the spirit rolling.

TEAM OUTING

For our spring quarterly outing, the Collab crew traded keyboards for sunshine and spent the day exploring the Denver Zoo together. With over 3,000 animals across 84 acres, the zoo offered the perfect setting to unwind, reconnect, and learn something new. Between giraffe feedings, big cat sightings, and plenty of team laughs, the day was capped off with a shared meal—and a special celebration for Mick Aller’s birthday.

GENIUSES FOR GEMS FUNDRAISER

Our team once again joined the fun at Geniuses for GEMS, the annual trivia night supporting The Quarter Project for GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science). Hosted by Leslie Patterson of Integrated Mechanical, the event brings teams together for a night of spirited competition—all in support of empowering girls to explore and thrive in STEM fields. With brain-teasing questions, great company, and a few strong margaritas, it’s become one of our favorite traditions—and one we’re proud to support year after year.

SUPPORTING CYO AT THE 2025 MAVERICK CLAY SHOOT

Collab team members Kaylyn Charlesworth and Joe Berlin volunteered at the 2025 Maverick Clay Shoot, one of Colorado Youth Outdoors’ four signature fundraising events. This annual 20-station shoot has raised over $15 million since its inception, supporting outdoor programs that strengthen youth and family relationships. For Kaylyn, this event holds personal significance as her family is deeply involved with CYO. This year she helped pull spent clay targets during the shoot, and even her young son even pitched in with cleanup. Joe also volunteered on a separate day, reflecting the spirit of service that runs throughout our team. To learn more about CYO and their mission, click here. Thank you, Kaylyn and Joe, for giving your time to a cause that matters so much to our local community!
