Collab Architecture’s Silverthorne Recreation Center Expansion Project Featured in Summit Daily
Collab Architecture was recently featured in the Summit Daily News spotlight on the Silverthorne Recreation Center expansion! This 23,000-square-foot project addresses the growing recreational needs of the Silverthorne community with adaptable and forward-thinking designs.
A key component of this project has been sharing conceptual plans with the public to generate voter confidence ahead of the April municipal election. The Town of Silverthorne is proposing a ballot measure to increase the lodging tax from 6% to 8%, which would provide critical funding for the expansion and other capital improvement projects. The measure offers a timely opportunity to move forward without delays or impacting other community priorities.
Collab Architecture worked closely with town officials and consultants to develop a report and visual concepts that clearly outline the expansion’s scope and benefits. These materials were presented at recent town council meetings, showcasing plans that include a 12,000-square-foot multipurpose gym, an expanded gymnastics space, additional fitness areas, and flexible youth programming spaces. The designs were crafted to resonate with residents and demonstrate how the project will address current and future needs.
The town emphasized the importance of acting now to avoid higher costs in the future, with projections indicating that delaying the project could significantly increase expenses. By engaging with voters and transparently presenting the project’s value, the town aims to secure the necessary funding to bring these plans to life.
We are honored to contribute to a process that prioritizes community input and long-term planning. Learn more about the ballot measure and project details by reading the full article here.
